HTMS Mataphon – Pattaya

The HTMS Mataphon is one of Pattaya's most accessible and enjoyable wreck dives, located among the near islands just a short boat ride from the mainland. This purpose-sunk landing craft rests upright on a sandy seabed and is surrounded by numerous artificial reef blocks, creating a thriving habitat for marine life and an excellent environment for underwater exploration.

With a maximum depth of 20 meters and generally calm conditions, HTMS Mataphon is a fantastic introduction to wreck diving for beginner and Open Water certified divers. The open deck layout, easy navigation, and nearby artificial reefs provide plenty to discover, making every dive both exciting and relaxing.

Divers can expect to encounter schools of snapper, batfish, fusiliers, juvenile barracuda, lionfish, nudibranchs, and occasionally blue-spotted stingrays resting on the sandy bottom. The combination of wreck structures and artificial blocks offers excellent opportunities for underwater photography and marine life observation.
